About Music at the Monument

Music at the Monument. The nonprofit concerts in our National Parks and Monuments perform outreach to local communities. Previously, Music at the Monument held concerts at the Sylvan Theatre, next to the Washington Monument in Washington, DC. In the 2023 season, Music at the Monument will be held in front of the Lincoln   Memorial.

The concert series brings an opportunity to improve access for minority populations who infrequently use our National Parks and Monuments, as well as other priority populations (veterans, youth and seniors). The musical jam sessions achieve these goals by featuring musicians that, after performing in the Music at the Monument series, spread the word about the meaning of National Parks as they perform throughout the country. In addition, these concerts feature both local and national performing artists that encourage diverse populations to come to the National Mall. Music is the medium through which Darryl continues his outreach efforts to promote health and wellness.
